The INTORQ range of spring applied energise to engage brakes 0.1 to 600Nm and energise to engage clutches and brakes 7.5 to 480Nm gives you world leading quality and performance.  Completing the Techdrives portfolio are electromagnetic tooth clutches and brakes from Moenninghoff, 6-16000Nm.

INTORQ is a company formed by a management buy-out from Lenze in 2003.  They are a world leading manufacturer of electromagnetic clutches and brakes.  Moenninghoff are a partner to Techdrives manufacturing clutches, brakes, torque limiters and gearboxes with special expertise in the area of tooth clutches.

Spring applied brakes (sometimes known as safety brakes) are used for the dynamic stopping and holding of loads.  When the supply power is off, the brake is on.  Brake release occurs when a dc current is applied to the coil.  This type of brake is commonly found in brake motors.  A manual release can be fitted.

Energise to engage electromagnetic clutches are switching devices that engage on application of a dc current (usually 24V) and transmit torque by friction.  Energise to engage electromagnetic brakes also suit dynamic and static holding duties.  When dc current is removed the brake is off.

Tooth clutches and brakes give high torques in compact sizes, torque transmission without slip and can achieve other functions such as torque limiting and synchronisation.
