Upgraded small servo system
Panasonic A4 servo launched on Techdrives website
The new Panasonic A4 small servo system, developed from their previous and successful servo range, is now launched on the Techdrives website. With seven models in a range 50 to 1500 W, the A4 series requires only a single phase supply 200-240 V. Compact motors and drives are offered along with cables and free software to make up a complete and cost effective servo system. Most models are available from UK stock.
Panasonic A4 servo motors are synchronous design with low inertia for a dynamic performance. Rated torques range from 0.16 to 4.8 Nm at 3000 r/min with a peak torque capacity of 300%. All models have a built-in 2500 pulse incremental encoder. Geared servo motors are also available with 44 preconfigured assemblies combining the motors with planetary gearboxes. Rated output speeds range from 60 to 1000 r/min and output torques up to 170 Nm. Motor enclosure is IP65 suiting nearly all requirements. Standard plug connectors on the cables are IP20 but an IP65 connector is optional.
There are three alternative A4 servo drives, each working with the standard Panasonic motors and available across the full power range up to 1500W. The A4A Analogue drive suits applications with full closed loop control from an analogue signal for speed or torque. The A4P Positioner drive gives simple sequential automatic positioning with up to 16 preset speeds and 60 programmable positions. The A4S Stepper Replacement drive gives increased performance following a pulse train in simple applications where stepper motor performance is not enough. All drives have a small footprint to limit panel size, for example 150 x 65 mm at 750W. Panasonic advanced design features make the drives very easy to use, for example real time auto-gain tuning, vibration control and electronic nameplate for automatic set-up.
The Panasonic A4 servo system includes cables for power and encoder feedback. There are also options for I/O and network/PC cables. Operating software is available as a free download from the website. Called ‘Panaterm’, the software makes simple the tasks of parameter setting, monitoring and diagnostics.
With a single phase supply requirement and international approvals that include cUL, CE, TUV and RoHS, the Panasonic A4 servo system fits the bill for most dynamic drive requirements in the UK. The complete system with cables and free operating software makes it easy for customers.
