Tooth clutches transmit high and slip free torque in compact dimensions and are capable of special functions such as synchronisation and torque limiting. Clutch engagement is made by applying a 24V dc voltage to the coil which creates a magnetic circuit that pulls two toothed rings into mesh. Engagement is normally made statically or at low speed, but disengagement can be at any speed.
Moenninghoff (also known as Mönninghoff) are a partner to Lenze/Techdrives and a specialist in tooth clutches with more than 30 years experience. They manufacture standard clutches described below and also many variants such as toothed brakes, spring applied tooth clutches and pneumatic tooth clutches.
