The new range of ball screw jacks from Italian specialist Servomech replace the acme thread in standard screw jacks with an efficient ball screw. This achieves higher performance, for example linear speeds increase from a maximum of 300mm/s to 1000mm/s.  Higher efficiency means that size-for-size more force is created and the reduced heat losses allow duty cycles up to 100%. The new Servomech ball screw jacks suit forces from 10 to 350kN and linear speeds from 2.0 to 100mm/s.

There are four models and eight sizes in the new range of ball screw jacks.  The model MS BS with traveling screw is a patented design with an optimised ball screw lubrication system fitted within the casing.  Two further models have travelling nuts where the ball screw nut travels along a fixed position screw.  Ultimate performance is delivered by the model HS high speed ball screw jacks.  These replace the normal worm gears by a bevel gearbox to which can be connected a servo motor.  Accurate positioning with low backlash is possible at linear speeds up to 1 m/s.

The choice of the right ball screw jack is simplified by a quick selector guide on the pages of the Techdrives website
