INTORQ electromagnetic clutches & brakes transmit reliable torque by friction suiting both static and dynamic applications.  Engagement occurs when a dc voltage, usually 24V, is applied.  This creates a magnetic circuit which pulls an armature plate onto a surface with friction material. Clutches connect between two rotating parts, brakes between one rotating and one fixed part.

INTORQ energise to engage clutches and brakes were previously manufactured by Lenze and used to carry the Simplatroll name.  They are backlash free, give torque-free release when power is removed, are fast operating and generally need no running in.  The catalogue gives alternative designs and mounting examples

On request lower torques and packaged clutch brakes are available.
